Life gets difficult at times to the point where we see giving up as an option. Here are 5 reasons why I don’t want you to.
#1 “…you’re doing the best you can…”
No matter what you're going through, don't feel defeated. You're doing the best you can. Pause when you can, try again – and if you fail, learn but don't give up. The fruits of your labor lie on the other side and the only way to get there is to keep going.
#2 “…see the silver lining”
I was inspired by Kobe Bryant’s 2013 injury to share this.
When faced with a setback that could have easily crushed his basketball career, Kobe chose a different path. He demonstrated unwavering determination, putting in hours of grueling rehabilitation and training to make a triumphant return to the court.
This reminds us that challenges and obstacles are not the end of the road, but a part of the journey. Kobe's commitment to overcoming adversity is a shining example of how setbacks can be turned into comebacks.
#3 You’ve survived 100% of your bad days
Remind yourself of how far you’ve come. Remember, you had to overcome setbacks to get to where you are. You are not just strong, you are capable; and like all your past adversities, you will triumph.
#4 Quitting gets you back to square one
Remember that a while back, your plan was to make as much progress as you have now. So before you think of throwing in the towel, remember that doing so will make you end up where you started.
If that isn't part of your plan, keep going.
#5 Remember the power of hope
Stay hopeful. Believing in the possibility that everything could change for the better is a game changer. Do not see the limitations of your current circumstance as the end.
And remember that one day, your story will inspire others to rise to the best version of themselves.
